About Oak Community Services:

We are a Community Interest Company (CIC), providing services for the communities of Bedfordshire and beyond.

We are proud Luton residents and our team of experienced mediators live in Luton or Bedfordshire, but we work countrywide.

We work with individuals, couples, families and groups. We also work with local government and voluntary sector partners.

The ethos of Oak Community Services is to empower people to be the best that they can be in their given situation. Our team are trained and experienced mediators. Wherever possible we shape our service to individual needs and situations.

Oak Community Services provides the following services:

  • Intergenerational mediation (young people under 18)
  • Intergenerational mediation (adults)
  • Co-parenting mediation
  • Faith-based mediation
  • School mediation
  • Bespoke mediation
  • Group mediation / facilitation
  • Conflict coaching / one-to-one support
  • Training for community mediators
  • Conflict prevention training

The organisation has the following in place:

  • All mediators have appropriate training
  • Written Code of Conduct
  • Published complaints procedure
  • Ongoing CPD and supervision/mentoring for mediators
  • Professional Indemnity insurance cover (no less than £1 million)
  • Public liability and Employer liability insurance cover
  • Suitable and sufficient service administration
  • Registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)
  • Safeguarding policy
  • DBS checks for mediators
  • Risk assessments carried out for individual cases
