CMC Consultation: Mentoring, Peer Review and Reflective Practice
For the last few years, discussions have taken place about whether civil and commercial mediators should have, or be required to have supervisors, mentors or practice consultants. It is common in other mediation sectors (such as family) where reflective practice and peer support are encouraged and thought to lead to better standards or mediation. The CMC’s Registration and Standards Committee is in favour of the increased use of mentoring and some form of reflective practice and is inviting CMC members to express their views and comment on a series of suggestions set out in its consultation paper. Mediators are invited to consider the paper and share their thoughts on the issues discussed by 18th January to secretariat@civilmediation.org
