Seeking Participants: Research on ‘Inheritance Disputes and Mediation’

STUDY BY DR MARIA MOSCATI AND ANDREW SIMS

Dr. Maria Moscati and Andrew Sims are seeking participants for a research study on ‘Inheritance Disputes and Mediation’. The study aims to collect data on the nature and sources of inheritance disputes, their resolutions through mediation, and how mediators determine the appropriate styles and models for effective resolution. Contribute to this important research and help shed light on the complexities of inheritance conflicts and the role of mediation.

Dr Maria Moscati, Reader in Law and Society at University of Sussex, and Mr Andrew Sims, Fellow of the CMC and an Independent Mediator in full-time practice), are carrying out research on ‘Inheritance Disputes and Mediation’ and are looking for participants.

The study aims to collect data on: a) the nature and sources of inheritance disputes, b) how there are resolved, c) whether mediators consider them as family, commercial or any other type of dispute, and d) how mediators decide which style and models to adopt for their resolution.

Dear CMC Members and fellow mediators,

We would like to invite you to participate in a new research project we are conducting on ‘Inheritance Disputes and Mediation’.

Our research has received ethical approval by the Cross-Schools Research Ethics Committee at the University of Sussex.

We collect data by asking mediators to answer a short, anonymous survey that will take about 15 minutes to be completed, and optional focus groups. Please note, you do not have to have practised in this field to complete the survey.

Many thanks for your consideration,

Maria & Andrew
