CMC Forms New ED&I Working Group
Join Our ED&I Working Group – Help Shape the Future of Mediation
The Civil Mediation Council is forming a new Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (ED&I) Working Group, launching in early 2026. We are looking for passionate and thoughtful individuals from across the mediation community and beyond to get involved.
CMC Chair Kelly Stricklin-Coutinho said: “Respect for each person’s dignity, sincere listening, and constructive conversation are at the heart of conflict resolution. As mediators we work to ensure that every person is fully heard. That means everything they bring to mediation. By prioritising equality, diversity, and inclusion, our profession can ensure that every mediator has the opportunity to bring to bear the fullness of their background and experience. Understanding the perspectives of the people we work with and serve can only be good for everyone who benefits from mediation, and leads to better outcomes.”
This group will play a key role in:
- Exploring and addressing barriers to access in the mediation profession
- Enhancing the mediation experience for all users
Whether you bring lived experience, professional expertise, or a strong commitment to creating more equitable spaces – we’d love to hear from you. Register your interest by emailing secretariat@civilmediation.org. Please include a brief overview of your experience and aspirations for this important work.
