Recruitment for Complaints and Disciplinary Committee
Recruitment for Complaints and Disciplinary Committee
The CMC is recruiting both lay and CMC regulated mediators for its Complaints and Discipline Committee. The CMC is committed to diversity and inclusion and welcomes applications from all backgrounds.
Closing date is 22 March 2024 at 12 noon.
Complaints and Disciplinary Committee
The Complaints and Disciplinary Committee considers complaints in connection with CMC regulated members. The Committee is comprised of Lay and Registered Members, and Panels are drawn from the Committee’s number to consider whether there should be a finding of serious professional misconduct and it is necessary and proportionate to impose a regulatory sanction, with due regard to the public interest.
Independent Complaints Investigators
Independent investigators are requested by the CMC’s Conduct and Discipline Committee (CDC) to investigate complaints concerning CMC regulated members. Investigators report their findings to the CDC, along with any other factors which they believe the Committee should take into account in determining whether the complaint is made out. The CDC makes the final decision about serious professional misconduct and appropriate and proportionate outcomes with due regard to the public interest.
