The CMC Receives Global Mediation Award from UAM

The CMC Receives Global Mediation Synergy Award from the Ukrainian Academy of Mediation

We are honoured to receive the Global Mediation Synergy Award from the Ukrainian Academy of Mediation. The Award is presented to organisations and individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership, commitment, and cooperation in joint initiatives to promote mediation and peaceful solutions globally.

This prestigious recognition highlights contributions to joint initiatives that transcend borders, foster international cooperation, and promote global mediation synergy.

The CMC has been collaborating with the Ukrainian Academy of Mediation for the past two years. Luiza Romanadze, President of the UAM, has participated in the CMC Academic Forum and Peer Mediation Working Group, and the CMC has supported the UAM’s international mediation conferences.

Last year CMC Deputy Chair Victoria Harris conducted a powerful interview with Luiza Romanadze. The two mediators discussed Luiza’s demanding work promoting mediation, both aiding displaced individuals globally and maintaining contact with Ukrainian mediators while being based in Hampshire for research. The conversation highlights the impact of her mediation training and the UAM’s role in promoting mediation and cultural shifts away from litigation in the aftermath of war.

The Ukrainian Academy of Mediation further explained why they awarded the CMC the Global Mediation Synergy Award: “This award acknowledges your outstanding contributions to the development of mediation, your unwavering support for Ukrainian mediators, and your commitment to fostering collaboration and unity in the global mediation community.”

Professor Jane Bryan and Victoria Harris, CMC Deputy Chair and mediator, have also been individually honoured by the Ukrainian Academy of Mediation for their efforts.

Jane is a Professor in the School of Law at the University of Warwick and chairs the CMC Academic Forum, a group currently connecting over 70 members representing some 30 Higher Education Institutions.

Victoria is a Trustee of Mediation Hertfordshire and the Deputy Chief Executive at the CMC where she she organises the Academic Forum, Peer and Community Working Groups.
